Hi guys - our long-awaited winter issue will be out in around 10 days, and I have to say I'm pretty proud of how it's looking so far... a couple of 'heads-up's

The biggest feature is our Photojournal on the Australian Barista Champs, where we bring you shots of the event from earlier in the year. It was a long time ago, but no-one else has really published a pictorial like this, so we thought it was still work bringing it to you.

Also, we'll have the our inaugural 'Coffee corner' - a casual chat with an Australian celebrity, finding out things like their favourite cafe, etc along with a casual chat. More fun than serious coffee, but hope you enjoy!

PS forgot to mention, will include an article by our very own moderator Askthecoffeeguy [Pat] about Syphon, the great new [old] brewing method!

Had a quick read through the winter issue at St Ali, looks great.
Will have to go back to read it thoroughly.

Just picked up the issue, and must admit I am disappointed at the size of the issue.

hey there - always happy to have feedback; yes, the plan was to be thicker when we are bi-annual, but unfortunately we can't be responsible for the vagaries of advertisers - and in the present climate a lot of them are reluctant to commit to advertising. That said, I think you'll find that the main reason it is thinner is that there are a lot fewer ads than usual, something that most people are usually pretty happy about!

Re: the Australian Barista Champs, I make no apologies - to my knowledge there is no-one else who's done a visual 'photojournal' feature like that, so from that point-of-view it's timeless; either you appreciate it or you don't - that's up to you.

I disagree with DonnaS- i really liked the spread on the Barista Champs. Also really appreciated the story by David Schomer - it's been up on the website but i still really enjoyed reading it on paper!

What a lovely surprise to receive this in the mail along with my Autumn issue.  Thanks guys for the great Magazine and for your kindness and care.  I can't wait to sit down and get into them... with a coffee of course.

thanks Beanray, although for financial reasons we don't publish a hardcopy of the mag anymore - assume you mean the I-Pad version?

cheers
