ok a bit of research reveals that it's actually a rebranded Fiorenzato - which explains the build quality and the very smooth action!

Yep... that sounds right. Looks like the F5 I had for years but with a souped-up burr set.

Enjoy!

it's a beast alright it's on par 8n size (and quality) with Mazer  Robar (IMHO)

Ive just paired it with a 22g VST basket and a single coffee handle and the resulting coffee is sublime!

KK and myself have two new Roburs bought back in September 2017 so almost two years old.

I joke about whether his Robur has worn out yet... ;D

He did kindly send me a heavy Aluminium foil chute for the Robur as it does throw left as most dosers do.

It definitely fixed that issue. I love it even though it is a bit on the big side. The size though is more a problem for others. Recently I floated the idea of getting the Mazzer Mini and my wife said 'why'. KK said 'KEEP THE ROBUR'.

I have kept the Robur as really these big conicals are amazing and not just in size. They are quiet, quick and give great results. It still amazes me just how it keeps the grind setting. It is only adjusted over a very small range and infrequently.

I have ordered an IMS basket 24.5mm instead of 26.5 to suit my Wega Mini Nova classic to reduce caffeine intake. Meanwhile I'm using the standard Wega basket and portafilter. Very nice all chrome brass and it holds only 18grams.

Overall I can't recommend this machine enough. My only other move may be to remove the finger guard to make cleaning the chute easier. Retention is not an issue though for me, I haven't flagged it as an issue in taste or pour. I would definitely grind some beans through though if left for several days although that happens rarely.

Has it been almost 2 years since we purchased our Robur
Time has flown

My Robur is still grinding perfectly and I don’t think it’s worn out yet and may be several more years before I notice any changes

I do however vacuum and clean the burrs every month or so

Yep.... agreed! Mr Robur is the apple of my eye and proudly stands head and shoulders over the other gear on the bench. A great machine!

Every time I get upgradeitis...well first time in two years, it always circles back to the Robur. I can't think of any other grinder I am confident will come close.

I like the looks too in spite of the size.
