Since becoming a roaster and reading a fair bit about blends and blending, I've noticed that quite a few blends have a minor percentages of Robusta included. So I decided to get my hands on some, Indian Monsoon Robusta Parchment R (don't know what the R stands for). I roasted some of this and decided to have a short black using this bean and nothing else. My God, is that in your face or what!! Is that why small amounts are used in blends? One thing I must say, it had a beautiful Crema. Look at the large amount of chaff that has not been removed during the roasting process.
This photograph was taken in full sun and even though it looks like a very uneven roast, it looks almost perfect to the natural eye.
