Another point is that while the halogen elements cycle faster and spike the temperature more, they certainly roast 600g fairly easily if you remove the shield completely. Not sure this is advised given that they are essentially hot glass under pressure to expand. > If you really hate the reducer ring, you can balance the T/O on the pot set using teflon hose with a slit cut in it, but this isn't ideal as the reducer ring means the T/O rests on the metal edge rather than the lid glass.
