Moved on to Cosmic_couple's Ethipian Tchembe this week. It is quite different from the Panama Hartmann Estate, but just as nice. I've been very impressed with Chester's coffee and would recommend it to anyone.

I roasted up the other week a blend, which you could say is a Mocca java but I added a little MM for some punch. Very impressed with the blend and it will be a keeper for me! I note the MM was no added post roast and bag was cracked 10 days post roast. Blend is roughly in these ratios of Eth Yirg Konga:Sum Gayo Spec:MM, 42.5:42.5:15 Jonty

I got three different beans going now 3 bean blend from Chester Stable treat from MG and a super sweet flowery, fruity Mexican from Chester

I just finished my Honduras Cup of Excellence 2012 which I roasted myself. I loved this bean and bought a bit a few years ago, but held on to a bit of green to enjoy later and enjoyed it very very much thank you. The mrs didn't complain either! 🙂 Next it's time for so more SO which are resting nicely.

Drinking the Magneto Espresso Blend from Clandestino Roasters on the Sunshine Coast! Perfect for my milk drinking family. Although I'm sure there is room on my bench for another SJ for an origin...

That's a nice blend mwcalder. I've bought a few bags of it over time and enjoyed it at clandestinos a few times too.

Tomorrow March 5th and the Yirg from Chester will be good to go.........yummy I also instructed him to roast some more now for another 2 weeks wait away. that coffee is absolutely undrinkable until day 13 then it is suddenly transformed into paradise for my taste buds anyway.

Must be the week for Yirg, I just broke into a batch I roasted a few days ago. :thumb: Bloody sight better than that India Elephant hills Peaberry rubbish I just finished. :-[

Yirg Kochera Brett H little bit longer development time than what I normally do on the yirg, but on the Kochera it pulls a little more blueberry out of the bean which was what C-man was after. First crack 11:50mins @ 188c dumped at 14:55 @ 200c medium roast.

I am actually no drinking any coffee at the moment I am on an elimination diet because of intestinal problems It is not easy........damm headaches too

My sympathees C man. A number of my customers at the cafe have gone off milk due to the same reasons or simply to lose weight. The general rise in obesity and sedentary lifestyles is a main factor for the change to black coffee, tea, or abstinence altogether. Some of them however have converted to lighter bodied brews. I had the Yirgacheffe Gelena Abaya through the Curtis Gold Cup machine. The converts as well as myself go wow at the uplifting florals and fruity berries on the palate. Heaven in a cup. And no heaviness. Today and yesterday we ran out of carafes and cups. Improvisation came in the form of milk jugs and piccolo cups.

I have compromised to one short black a day, I feel a lot better without the milk

The last couple of lots of beans I have bought were sold as Guatemala SHB, they were velvety smooth with a very distinct chocolate note. Does coffee have notes? I am more used to talking perfume and perfume has notes :🙂. I just popped out and thought I would have a change and grabbed some that were sold as Costa Rica, Costa Rica what I have no idea :-|.
