Looks great KK! Will it fit your prospective lever purchase?

No as it has a different profile The Strega has an extra ridge so it can fit deeper into the lever head Photo is of the Strega PF KK

So I gave the nakid PF a go two times It just confirmed that I am doing everything right KK

Does it fit an e61? I bet you could recoup some of your losses by listing it in the FS area or if you are feeling generous, list it in the What's Mine is Yours section. I for one love being nak.... never mind!

Fits the Bezzera just fine, thought about selling it Brett, sadly I'm a bit of a bower bird, once I own something I need a pretty good reason to sell it, not using it is not a good enough reason. :🙂

I can relate to that. I have a Rocky on my bench that wouldn't have seen 5kg in the 18 months I've owned it. It was a compulsive purchase from Merlos in the Valley for decaf. I mostly have just redialed the big grinder for decaf but I just can't be bothered moving the Rocky on. They really are worth more than their asking price IMHO. What a tank! Now back OT: KK, I love the naked for the look of the shot and the huge Crema as opposed to a diagnostic tool. See how you go living with it; but if you are like me and the aesthetics of the shot revealed is seamingly great theatre, you wont want to retire it. Conversely DB, I have on occasion gone back to the spouts for a change. Nice to have both options!

Have camera - check Have Nakid PF - check Below is photo shot of a pour using my new Bezzera PF Only use the Nakid PF with a single basket for when one person wants a coffee KK

What did the nekkid set you back, KK. That's a fancy bit of gear, and a lovely pour.

Its a genuine Bezzera one from Italy Cant remember if it was $89 or $99 because Chris let me take it home to see if it was OK for the Group head I went back to pay for it a couple of days later and then also walked out with a new steam arm as well KK

i ring chris every week anyway , might have to add to my next order.

DoubleRistretto

I used to go naked ;D but after a while I went back to dual spouts - initially because i often needed to make a coffee for two people at the same time... however not sure if I would got back to naked for the times that I'm only making a shot for myself... in theory there's no reason why not, to be honest, I guess it's just that I can't be bothered!! dR :o

I love the fact that I can easily wash the bottom of the filter basket to clean it between shots, without having o take it out. This is especially iortant o me if I go away from the machine and come back a couple of hours later. No stale burnt on coffee scum taint for me... Or as I call it: the Starbucks Feature.

Lacehim

I love using the nakid handle AM made me. He adjusted it slighly for me and now it's perfect. It's much cleaner to use, and the coffee is great but now I can watch it slowly drip down into my cup from the basket. The spouts on the lusso are pretty useless anyway. Mmmm. Time for another coffee I think! ;D

I need a bit of help guys.... Using Muscles naked PF, it seems that my pour always seems to start on the left side as in the picture. I've checked my tamp, even tried tamping harder on the left side to see whether that will make it go out the right first but it won't even do that! Also taken the shower screen out to give it a clean and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong there either... Any ideas of what else I could try so I get an even ring instead of it favouring one side initially?? Shots taste great by the way 🙂

Brett_H

Check that your machine/bench is still level. After that do a chemical backflush and check with AM whether av6910 can develop issues around the showerscrean in relation to blockages in the water line. Ood luck!

Yes I would check that the machine is level on the bench Across & front to back PS that's a great photo 😛 and that coffee looks tasty KK

Tango

Thanks Brett and KK! Didn't even think about the level of the bench...will check it tomorrow! It was a yummy shot 🙂

shape_shifter

Love that shot Tango even if it is lop sided 😃 I tell you AM the shower screens on the new one are going to be soaked once a week, I thought I was being clean, no way in the world was I close!!! :o

Brett is 100% correct... Check out the shower screens.. Remember to NEVER do a major Backflush or use a DF basket to do the sweet spot test, unless you have first inspected and cleaned both shower screens.. PS. Level of the machine will have little to do with a Naked... The chemical backflush will do a fair of the main shower screen BUT most of the bad stuff and the crap that will block your gauge and feed lines will be behind the inner shower screen. Anger on Maintenaince; not that I know much ;D

I just had a bit of a play and I think I might have figured it out.... I'm currently using an 18g Synesso with the naked and when you lock the group handle into the machine, it locks in well past the centre - any less and you get squirts out the side. I changed the basket to the standard double single floor Sunbeam and the group handle locks in just a little bit to the right of centre. Result was a pour that was a lot quicker, but slightly more even when it started. Blonded super quick. So perhaps the lopsidedness is due to where the group handle locks in? I think I'm just going to live with the lopsided pours off the Synesso because I think (although it's probably just my perception) that they taste better than the double Sunbeam.

I'm finding the naked PF useful already, it's definitely exposing a weakness in my understanding of finding the right fineness of grind and my tamping technique. I have a great deal of difficulty tamping level - the naked helps, but doesn't entirely cure this. Any ideas?
