The body was only rechromed on the understanding it could self destruct and there would be no responsibility taken by the chromer. Its very thin, no attempt was made to rectify imperfections (such as the dent in the front) etc., and we were all relieved when it came back as it is. Not all has been done, the valves were polished and still have the patina of age on including the cover over the top of the group, but I have never been a fan of restoring stuff to better condition than was originally possible, and I think its good for something like this to look likes it's authentic rather than straight off the production line in china. The imperfections add character and authenicity.... There is no doubt the light in the front really lifts the look (not necessarily in a photo but certainly in the flesh). So there it is! Now to make it work at its best. By the way, that's the 1918 model 5 kilo roaster behind in the restored photos.
