This is how she sits at the moment,just a few bits of paperwork holding my up at the minute but will be on the road very soon🙂 Been busy painting the cab and sorting doorpanels and headliner so keeping busy. Settled on Vintage Flair as a business name for ,kinda fits the overall look im going for. Lotta interest frompeople passing by and a few bookings for weddings over the next few months so at least im on the right track,just need to sort a regular coffee run and i will be happy.

Been a while since popping in...We have been on the road for 6 weeks now and are starting to maintain a regular run during the week...Plenty of sporting activities on the weekend and a fair few bookings are popping up..so all and all we are pretty happy..heres a few photos would love you guys feed back on what you think...thanks...hope ive posted this to the right place i get a little confused on this site..haha

Been reading this thread carefully with plenty of interest as I,ve got a mobile coffee van business on my mind for the future. That combi van certainly is eye catching, and it;s got that feel good, beatles kinda sort of look about it. Business may start slowly, but with great coffee, products and great service, you get good word of mouth advertising soon enough and the bookings start rolling in. Would like to know how do you start establishing clientele and what is your general feeling during this early stage of your chapter? Sub-Ju, would also like your feedback on how you got started, together with client base build up. Thanks in advance. 🙂

Think ive kinda hit a wall ,at least mentallly anyway.Its the worst thing about putting a personal touch to any project,in eveyone elses eyes its perfect but theres always something that could be better in mine🙂 I missed out on 2 regular pitches at the local "farmers" markets while waiting for permits and its getting late in the season here so may have to focus more on the regular route. Wedding a few weeks back went really well,ended up doing coffee from abt 4 in the afternoon til well after 1 in the morning(appearantly the coffee was that good). Also somehow managed to get a spot at a weekend music festival towards the end of August so got a silly amount of work and planning for that too. Will keep this updated over the next few days as i figure out where i go from here, probably step back for a day or two and clear my head then pudh on and get on with it. Comments and suggedtions always welcome,wouldnt have gotten this far without them🙂

Awesome Rat ! One thing I'd like to know is how do you bill at a wedding. Keep tabs on the number of cups and send them a bill ? Or is it a flat fee for the entire event ?

So far I cant fault the fracino machine. Its easially as fast as any push button machine as far as i can tell, no delays waiting for steam,hot water or espresso and from a cold start only takes abt 15 mins to get up to working temperature(25 if on gas). The levers are nicely balanced,doesnt take a whole lot of physical strength to get them down then its a quick flick and it does the rest itself. Theres not even a whole lot of reviews online so its kinda hard to get a general opinion of what other owners think. Once the newness wears off its gonna have to get some custom touches,maybe some brass accents or polish the inside bits and cut a viewing window. Too much stainless for my liking.If you guys want pics or vids of certain bits ask away. As for pricing since im still trying to get the name out there ive been doing a little bartering,the photographer at the last wedding was pretty good so took some cash off the bill for getting him to take some shots. At the end of the day i have to factor in my time,stock and use of the bus but still keep it reasonable and accessable to everyone. Still learning the business side to it all and am probably undervaluing what im asking but its one of those things im gonna have to work on as things move along.

picked up a few bits last night, a nice 58mm RB tamper and a 18g ridgeless basket. Made some videos of the basket in use,just gotta get a youtube account sorted and i will add some links. Added a photo of my little workstation as it is at the moment,plenty more to come though

hey there, Well I kinda just did a fairly big marketing drop around the city...with flyers and business cards and really got the name out there before the van was on the road...then once I was up and running I went back to alot of places I had visited and offered them coffee at reduced rates in return for good honest feedback..alot of these businesses have since become part of my regular daily run...service with a smile and a friendly outgoing manner goes a long way aswell..Im really enjoying getting more and more contacts all through word of mouth...and have recently put a page on facebook for the business...free marketing there too so cant go wrong..facebook is like a weed...Have had heaps of awesome feedback on my coffee making skills and also the van is really eye catching and hard to miss...so all and all very happy...just had some weather sheilds made up for using when I'm parked up on the weekend at an event or the kids footy...wow do they work well..very happy...check out the pic..
