Well I can confirm the 'quiet start' technique works for me also. The startup time question seems to have gotten a little out of hand tho - Although the typical amount of time between turn-on and baby wakeup is about 30mins, the Bezzera BZ07 gets up to temp very quickly and is definitely ready to go in 15-20 mins. I posed the question because I generally want coffee the moment I'm mobile. That wait could be 15 mins or it could be an hour, but any kind of wait is just about intolerable these days - I just didn't want the pump noise to hasten the arrival of my 2 year old noisemaker!
