Yes and then there is the issue of restrictions as to the max temp the units are allowed to reach; on these types of devices. 250C 🙂 In general the bi metal strip type are limited to 250 Max. Mass produced and cheep. You can get replacement thermostats that will go to 275 and or even 320 but they can cost as much as the TO alone. Then all you need is a good Quarts element. I by passed the thermostat on 3 units and two failed not long after due to the actual terminals at the element ends melting / disintegrating due to extend high temps. Then I got lucky with the thermostat and element in my latest TO AND it is a trooper. KK. Need to get all your stuff and drawings and etc and I will soon be able to build for you.
