Sharkboy, FC has provided a better response than me, but, after the machine has been idle for a while, you notice that the water jumps around a bit with lots of steam. I let the water run until such time as the steam subsides and the water stops 'jumping' around. This can take a few seconds and somewhere like 200 ml of water. When pulling multiple shots, I only flush enough water to flush any coffee grounds from the screen. P
