Happy birthday to my Bezzera.

In fact its almost 13 months since I bought my Domus Galatea from Coffee Craft in Adelaide and I'm happier with it now than when it was new.
Runs like clockwork and produces shot after shot of great coffee.
Back flush daily with water and once a week with Cafetto Evo,  descale every 3 months with Cafetto Restore.
As I mentioned in a previous post even though I don't use any form of water filtration scale build up is minimal and what does accumulate is taken care f by my back flush routine.
Was not a cheap machine but worth every cent, I'm more than pleased with it and there will be no further upgades necessary for years to come, if ever. ;D

Strange isn't it? we do develop a high degree of brand loyalty to cars, motor bikes, coffee machines, big screen tv's etc but when was the last time you heard someone extolling the virtue's of their lawn mower, dishwasher or vacuum cleaner? :D

My first machine was the Bezzera Domus Galatea Pat (askthecoffeeguy) also had one It is beautifully made & if I did not get a deal to good to refuse on a Bezzera BZ40 plumbed in I would still have it Congrats on the birthday KK

Thanks for that KK, my only issue is the pump noise level and the guys at Bezzera are aware of it and tell me they are working on a solution.

Maybe I can help What noise are you referring to and on what section of the process e.g. brewing, back flush ? KK

Brewing, particularly when the pump is not under load, i.e. when it's filling the boiler or pre infusion = very noisy once it starts extraction and the pump is under load the noise drops to an acceptable level. Have had the cover off and made sure the damping foam was in place under the pump (it was) and have used noise damping material on the interior of the panels, it's still pretty noisy.

It may be a silly question but is your room live or likes amplifying noise I had a similar issue but it did not worry me I did get around it with a folded towel on the back end of the top It basically muffled the sound as it rose out My live room was mainly to blame If you had a squealing spring, then I have a fix for it KK

Exactly the opposite mate, old stone cottage, low ceilings, very quiet room, that is until the Bezzera pump starts to boogie. ;D

We usually mount this under the bench in a cupboard. A few benefits are. Very Quite. Pump Pressure adjustment. This can be plumbed to mains or suck from a reservoir.
