thought I'd start this up in anticipation for some of the action starting to happen; links etc

beanflying

A few links to look at for a start - sleepless nights ahead http://www.worldcoffeeevents.org/#&slider1=2 http://2011wbc.wordpress.com/2011/05/27/who-competes-when/ http://www.livestream.com/worldbaristachampionshiplive Watch live streaming video Matt Perger ( @mattperger on twitter ) and David Makin ( @davidmakin ) have left the country and are on their way to Columbia as of Sunday morning. Follow them on twitter or keep an eye out here for more.

hazchem

might also be worth following @em_oak who will be on the ground in Bogota & if that's not enough you can follow me too @hazchem 'cos I probably won't shut up about WBC for the next 10 days or so ;-)

beanflying

from David Makin "@mattperger and I have safely arrived in Colombia. It's late we're tired and the NZ team has drunk all the beer in the hotel bar :-(" Darn Kiwi's 😉

Hi guys - I think calibration was happening today - would be great to have any further progress reports from anyone 'in the know'! cheers A

beanflying

I still wonder about the merits of running a WBC at an altitude where water boils at 90 degrees C ;D

hazchem

as mention by beanflying already, our Australian Champ is on the ground in Bogota. first things first, on the hunt for milk. Not so much luck early on - http://www.twitvid.com/7PVY3 but all sorted now with some "pretty tasty stuff" found

DoubleRistretto

I used to sitting up watching horse events from the other side of the world all night, never thought I'd be doing the same with coffee 😃

I think that Matt's performance was calm & professional, great interaction with the judges. Looking forward to seeing more competitors tonight!

Thanks for the link, I didn't get to watch him this morning. I enjoyed his run through and that he concentrated on taste, after all isn't that what it's all about 🙂
