WTB: Lever Machine (Rancilio Z8/Z9 or similar) in any condition

While I've got a limited budget, I'm desperate to get my hands on a lever project - ideally a 1 group but a 2 group wouldn't exactly make me sad.

I love the look of the 70's Rancilio machines, and due to a moment of generousity to a stranger recently lost out on a "lever+brewpot" Z which was my dream (non-Kees) machine.

If anyone has one of these and might even consider selling, knows where I'd find one (other than eBay) or can help in a way I've not thought of yet, please get in touch.

This is a Z9 just for interest. They are still out there in use and or mothballed. good luck with the search.

Thanks guys - certainly I've been looking up and down the east coast, kinda given up on Melbourne as a couple of lever fanatics plus a restorer spend all day snapping them up - I'm aware of one person who bought 17 that I know of last year and another person who bought 10 or more. In Sydney they all go very fast (usually within an hour on eBay and the other obvious places), and Brisbane/Darwin/Perth seem to be better options, apart from Darwin/Perth delivery/inspection costs. Mark, I'll let you know of any I find via Twitter - by older vintage are you talking 1950s/1960s? There's a beautiful Conti going for $1500 US on eBay US, if you can get them to bother to ship it. I doubt it'll go with 'local pickup available' as the only postage option, and you've got a bit more experience with the electrical side of things. Thanks BF - that's about my ideal Rancilio, and one of my favourite colours, despite being the most common one! Looks like she'll scrub up beautifully. J

Gents, I have a 2 group La Cimbali Granluce that I may be persuaded to part with for not much more than my own cost to buy and import from Italy a couple of years ago. Its unrestored and I havent touched it yet.....as the saying goes, it is "as is where is" and as found. The external condition is good enough to clean and leave, the "beauty" of it being that it is in good original condition. I personally wouldnt send it off to the chromers and get all new stuff made up for it etc because it isnt bad enough, and I dont like machines brought up to better than they looked originally (as it is possible to do these days). That however is the prerogative of the owner   I have no idea of internal / mechanical / electrical conditinion but can say that currently it isnt a goer -  Or - I certainly wouldnt put an electrical plug on it and try and switch on. All I know is...it isnt a goer at the moment and I have no idea what might be required as I havent taken a look. In terms of the price......the condition has no bearing. I paid what I poaid, and it cost what it cost to import from Italy. Traders in Italy know how people are snapping stuff like this up, and dont muck around with the price, which is why when you buy one from someone that has already done up a machine, you pay the ransom. As already stated I will only be looking to recoup my costs and a very small margin if I sell. Reason for selling (if I do) wouldnt be anything more than we havent had the time to look at it and could languish on display here for years, and it may be better in the hands of someone that wants to do it justice right now and get it going and well loved. One of our staff members owns a Rancillio NCL (1group) and a z9 (2 group).  I'm pretty sure he's happy to part with the 2group to someone else who has a genuine interest in levers.  If you msg me I can pass on his details.
