After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Congratulations to others that were also successful in gaining recognition for the fruits of their labour. It is very (quietly) satisfying.

Oh yes I should have mentioned, these are stock coffees that we supply to the public and cafe's alike, taken straight from our...."stock"!  They are not treated in any particular special way before being entered into a comp.

  • Well done Attilio. Excellent consistency across the categories demonstrates you are indeed a master roaster.
  • Well done :) You need to be a little brave to put yourself out there against others for open scrutiny like this. Shame more of the glitteratti in Melbourne and Sydney don't have a go at more of these sorts of events, It would be interesting to see how they are received amongst their peers and when blind judged. Is Cafebiz the next one coming up?

Melbourne held it's own event for the first time recently - but I'm not sure of the results. The organization of it was a little bit last minute so I'm not aware of how many people submitted entries. Sydney also has an event around the Easter show. Golden Bean is up at the end of November. Roasters are now considering whether to enter as the CafeBiz folks have been doing the ring-around reminder calls along with a fair bit of promotion via the social and print media channels.
  • Well done to all at cosmorex. Got to be happy with such consistent results across all categories. Also congratulations to all other winners. Full results available at http://www.hobartshowground.com.au/foodawards/docs/2011_fine_food_awards-catalogue.pdf For anyone interested (coffee categories are near the end).
