After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Bad coffee photos, Crapuchino, Latte artless .......

edited January 1970 in Off-topic
Was editing a few shots from last weeks bike ride and this one was in the middle of one of them. This was actually the replacement Latte as the first one was WORSE  :P Needless to say I have been there recently and was drinking water.

  • Nespresso? Looks like something a superauto would put out if not maintained properly.
  • Nope made on a fairly modern Expobar and yep they own a grinder. Just got no clues. Coffee this bad has little chance of getting better any time soon. This one is one of my poor first attempts on a commercial machine (moved from the good Latte art thread) but I still know which I would rather drink  ;) Muffin Top Coffee - Really poor art 20167_1225114076497_1488373286_30523709_90111_n.jpg

And if one asked for a cappucino? Did they have some "prefrothed" milk to spoon on top?
  • Now ya see, I would tell him, in front of anyone in earshot that he has no idea and should just fuck off
  • I went for breaky, was really hungry so I bypassed the little lane espresso bar at coolum (big mistake) and ordered a latte with my cooked breaky at the Stellarossa espresso bar, it's an espresso bar right?  Surely they can made a semi decent coffee.  :stir Well no, I got some coffee flavoured milk instead, no crema, no latte art, although the milk was done well, and the temperature was perfect, but totally flavourless.  Might as well have been nescafe! :(  It actually looks better in the photo than it did in real life! • Hmmm, I have a Stellarossa just up the road. I didn't know they were a franchise ? Either way, I wont go near it.
  • Wow, looks anaemic!  Did you ask them for a replacement?  My own mother is the queen of demanding replacements now telling the baristi politely that te coffee is too weak, too hot... Etc I don't know how much spur she has consumed to date but all power to her!
  • Anaemic is a perfect description.  I didn't complain, mainly because I doubt the replacement could improve.  I just won't be going there for coffee again!  It was about the same experience that I've had with coffeeclub coffee!  Food was ok though.  There is an Emjays two doors down, and although they are a franchise too, I've had a decent milk based coffee there, I should have waited!  :-[ I'll try little lane espresso next time I'm in Coolum again too, just a small place, but hopefully more committed to great coffee.  It seemed busy.
  • The photo of this cappuccino was taken as soon as it was presented to me. Still not sure how/what they did to get it looking like that. I've visited quite a few cafes and this presentation is one of the worst i've had. app_Small.jpg
  • Wife says it looks like potato  gratin  with tomato/bacon splashed on top......
  • That looks like a half dissolved turd...
  • Bwahahahahahaha. Borat wins  :thumb:

Ah, the ubiquitous Churchill Salmon raises its ugly head!
  • That,s not a cappucino. It,s a rice pudding with nutmeg on top.;D On a technical note, the froth for the cap was coarse which has big bubbles, so when they eventually burst, it leaves craters. Denser microfoam tends to be stable for longer before disintegrating.
  • one of a kind anyway......
