Cafe Biz - does anyone attend?

Hi guys - just found out that Cafe Biz has been running over the last couple of days in Sydney - wondered if anyone still bothers to go to this; if so, how was it?

G'day A, wrt only me...... I went, I saw, and I conquered. May end up doing business with the very first person on a stand I stopped to talk to. So for me on this occasion, it was well worth it. I did the exhibition part in just over an hour as I dont need to stop to view sundry barista comps etc. Also I didnt do any of the workshops, and I am ruthless in the way I start at one end and go up and down and only stop for things I need to look at. I stop to talk to those that I know but budget no more than a few minutes with each with a polite nod when I need to move on. Well you do (need to move on) when you have a plane to catch. That makes you very keen to do your stuff and stick to the plan. Flying is ever so much better than spending up to 8 hours in the car on the one day, fighting traffic at the Sydney end and trying to find parking. So for me, well worth it this year, extra expense of flying accepted. Anyone else?

I was there as part of one of the barista comp teams. There seemed to be a slightly higher number of exhibitors at this one, with all the regular faces there. The location was fantastic, the old locomotive workshops are amazing structures. M.

I made the pilgrimage from Perth to Sydney for 5 days with Cafe Biz and Beanology in the middle, all of the Beanology sessions I attended were interesting and informative, down on the main floor  I enjoyed the  competitions, coffee and food displays and had a play on a Slayer, Ofra ran a bag of my espresso blend through the HX and punters had a smile on their face, that was great relief for me and my roasting effort Well worth the journey from one side of Oz to the other :thumb:

To be fair, I've been to more than a few cafes who could benefit from ditching their baristas and replacing them with a pod machine.
