WTB - Packing crate to suit a 1 group commercial machine

Hey everyone,
Having jumped the gun and purchased a slightly used 1 group commercial machine, I need to transport it from Vic to the Gold Coast.
The seller has no crate. So I need to securely package it and arrange for transport.
Pack and Send was $340. plus insurance.
I am looking to buy (under $100) a used crate and pallet to accommodate it.
Machine is 500mm x 500mm x 510mm .
Weight is about 45kg.
I am happy to negotiate arrangements etc so i can deliver the crate to the seller in VIC.

Per brief discussion on chat with Derrilex: If makign a crate, he would be using ply or MDF. Bunnings sells a range of cheap and nasty sheets from 9 mm to 18 mm - or a flooring product called yellow tongue for about $40 a sheet ( 19 mm) thick I'd happily make one, but looks like muscles can arrange something for collection from Thomastown. Edit: Oh yes, most commercial machines will have some means to screw them securely to the pallet so they don't move in transit. Might mean removing feet, but there will be a way.

May be able to offer other locations too... We ship weight plates and dumbbells Australia wide so also have pallets with wooden crate firmly attached to them. The only thing they lack is a lid, but that should be easily sorted.

May I suggest - complete foam restraint I make this suggestion with past experience Wrap the machine in plastic (important) Use as many as required - expanding foam bag modules for complete security inside the box The box is then strapped to a small skip/pallet And then cling wrapped KK

Yes great minds And just to expand on packaging foam a little It is very important that expanding foam does not come into contact with anything you want to keep e.g. a coffee machine If this stuff comes into contact with said shiny machine you will never get it off Hence my suggestion of wrapping the machine and any foam is in there own bags as well This is known as a goods -double safety system KK

Just curious Lwowiak - what is the model of the 1-group commercial machine ? Reason I ask is one of my 1-group commercial machines went missing in Melbourne.

Jeff, strictly legitimate purchase. It is an Italian hand made lever, slightly used.

With airline tickets so reasonable it would be remis of me to also advise that you accompany the machine by purchasing it's own seat Classical musicians do it all he time with large or expensive instruments Weight should not be a factor just that it fits on the seat

Becasue I saw the listing over there pop up when I went to "recent search" looking at Terra Kera info.  I'm not a member, not in a postition to buy BUT had I been a member I would have sent that PM instantly... and begged forgivness from my new owners!!!  I'll stop the banter now and let you do your well deserved grand reveal of... you wonderful new toy! :thumb:

your one lucky bugger!  I saw that and I would have said yes straight away.  I was serious considering one of those.  Why s/he wanted rid of it I would never know.  $2000, they gave it away. Pay what it costs, you'll still be way ahead!

Shhh... Don't spoil the big reveal.  It may end up being a 6910 with a lever glued on the font the actuates the button costing $20 000.  Over o you Lwowiak you lucky ########
