( Claimed ) KKTO free to a good home!

Hi all,

Im now roasting once per week on a 1kg Giesen coffee roaster doing four or five back to back roasts which means that I'm churning through my backlog of green beans - and, sad to say, my KKTO is not getting the regular workout it needs!

So my sustaining ethos is "use it or lose it" - so unfortunately (or fortunately depending upon how you view it) - the KKTO must go!

Now I attempted to do some mods to this machine myself, popping the baseplate off so that it could fit inside an existing turbo oven framework - but I couldn't quite get the rest of the unit to fit in the 'new' frame - so I popped the whole thing loosely back together and have been using it to roast

But the base plate still needs some pop rivets to hold it all together - apart from that the unit is working well and has a new turbo oven lid and heat source which I've added to it

Given that I don't have much use for it at the moment, and given that it needs a bit of work, I can't quite bring myself to sell the unit - but I am happy to give it away - collect only from preston in Vic, no postage!

But you have to work for it folks: tell me in 50 words or less why it should be yours and the winning entry takes all!

KK has also kindly offered to do any repairs to the KKTO that the new owner is unable to do themselves - so don't let a lack of know how get you down!

Congratulations to Seeya Latte. No offence to all the other contestants, but it's great to see a newbie roaster take it!  We're all here to help!  I found roasting to be very fun, and adds so much scope to the variety of beans, and increases the knowledge about the roasting process.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pat this afternoon and picked up the KKTO - He really is a cool bloke - thanks again Pat! Unfortunately I had that much running around to do after that the most I got to do tonight is turn on the agitator and yes it spins! The first thing is to get me some greens and hopefully be cranking it up in the next couple of weeks When I'm nearly there I'll be calling on all your kind offers of assistance and advice from my fellow Cremarians Can't wait George

Hi Gary not so much a Newbie to espresso but an absolute Greenie in relation to roasting  :D (u like?) KK's just sent me all the pdfs etc so I've got plenty of reading first up

It's actually a good roaster to start learning to roast. It's difficult to ruin a roast on this one. Only thing is that it's designed to handle relatively moderate to big batches in a domestic capacity. Any questions on anything about the roaster or need any tips, just fire away.
