After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Low fat milk to steam

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Anyone suggest a lower fat milk that still works in the steaming jug?

I find the latte a bit rich with full cream milk.

All suggestion appreciated.

2% is best. Milk fat is irrelevant in steaming. It is the protein that creates the froth.
  • Up here (Canberra) if we are looking for a lower fat milk we use a thing called Hi Lo...it still tastes similar to full cream. Otherwise if you are dead set looking for LOW fat then we use "Shape". We dont use skim, afraid it's just too "watery"...then again so is shape but you gotta give people what they want. Regardz, FC.
  • Hi I use the regular low fat milk (Woolies branded milk) that steams perfectly fine - great microfoam. Patrick
  • another great milk that is available pretty much nationwide is Tone by pura milk i use it daily and find it is consistetly brilliant ;D
