After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Silvia-Rocky combo or Zaffiro-Rocky?
Hello all!
My first post here. It is a great place for learning the intricacies of the excellent espresso shot!
I have been reading a lot lately as I intend to replace my current Saeco Via Veneto Combo with a more serious equipment. Initially I was very much inclined on buying the infamous Rancilio Silivia in a combination with the Rocky doserless. This is a great combo indeed!
After reading about the temperature stability and the necessary PID mods that would amount to a serious financial investment on top of the combo price, I have decided that an Isomac Zaffiro might be a better option for me. I do not fancy a HX machine as I would need to cool it down before every shot, whilst the thermal stability of the Zaffiro has been stressed on in a couple of reviews at CoffeeGeek.
I will need the Rocky as well, no matter which combo I would go for. In my opinion this is the best value for money grinder on the market.
I have tried to find the Quickmill Alexia but here in the UK it is impossible to find it. In the US they seem to have the best both choice and prices, but here in the UK not only are they very expensive but the choice is not as big as one should like to see.
Anyway, I will greatly appreciate your expert opinion!
