Grinder cleaning

Last night I thought I would run the sachet of Grindz, that has been sitting on my cupboard top for the last week, through. To say it was a messy business is an understatement.
I'm not sure if it is coincidence or not but this morning I had one of the best cuppas I have had in a long time.

A big thumbs up from me for the cleaner, a big thumbs down from me for the mess  :P.

thats awesome CB. If your bottom burr hadn't been cleaned in a long time it would be a little rancid.

This probably should be in the confession section but I have never pulled the bottom burr out. I give it a brush but I am too scared to take it out in case I can't get it back in and then I will be back on Blend 43  ^-^.

Morning Sue, don't stress too much re the bottom burr, they seldom need removing, the only time mine comes out is when the burr set needs replacing. Give the bottom burr and chamber a clean up with a small stiff brush then suck the residue out with a vacuum cleaner nozzle, I do this every few months.

indont remove mine also DB. I just blitz it with Grindz every so often to give it a clean.

Thanks both. I'm not too fussed about it, the Grindzs cleaned it up good as new. I often have wondered about giving it a hoovering every now and again  :thumb:.

I probably pull my burr sets apart once or twice a year for a clean and to check the blades - but i brush and vacuum once or twice a week bearing in mind that im putting a few kgs a week through my grinder at the moment!
