After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

CONFESSIONS of a COFFEE ADDICT.

edited January 1970 in Off-topic

I was in a tram in Melbourne one day .. long time ago .. but anyway, I found myself sitting diagonally opposite this Woman in a Tram. I was spellbound and could hardly get my eyes off her. Being a skinny Guy all my life until more recently .. I wasn't overly attracted to the geometrically enhanced members of the opposite sex. No idea whether she knew I was ogling... at her face (true) .. no plunging necklines happening here, lads .. didn't need to .. she was a absolute stunner .. immaculate. I could stretch out that moment .. but moving right along, as time is quickly becoming a factor .. due to the fact that I was getting off at the next stop, so I had to quickly decide whether I was going to make a move.  I got up [Go Bro] .. and sat beside her - opposite another rather well presented Woman. I then turned toward her and said ''I just wanted to say how stunning you look'' She said 'thank you' .... I then stood up as the Tram stopped .. and departed. Wonder what the other Woman thought?

Although I do try to resist the temptation to comment on a Woman's perfume, if she is sitting next .. or opposite me in a Train or Tram .. OK .. I'll admit I have complimented a stranger on a few occasions. The allure must be exceptional .. when .. on the rare occasion .. a Woman is wearing a perfume that had as much alluring power as the Sirens had in store for Ulysses.

On the other hand ... there are some shockers that are nauseating - If only they knew. So far ... (apologies to the Borg - Star Trek) resistance isn't futile .. and the force is still strong. I wanna tell 'em .. sooo bad.  >:D

Ok ... get the picture

C'mon lads ... open up that closet door .. don't be shy

  • Confession time:  As a poor university student I had a very expensive computer with a personal loan attached.  As was the fashion it came time for me to format the hard disk as everything had bogged down and no amount of clearing out of temp files or cache could get it to run without crashing.  A light-bulb moment saw me running to office works to purchase a tape drive!  An expensive white elephant tape-drive that I could I'll-afford, but afford it I did!!  I went back to campus, used the drive to backup all my data, then formatted and reinstalled, restored the data and then suffered extreme, buyers remorse.  The tape drive was now redundant until the next time and truely, I could just use floppy drives for my back-ups..... Back to office works the same day for my money-back. But wait... It gets worse...... Next day back to office works with a mate as he was shopping for a new modem and what should be sitting on the discount table but a very heavily discounted tape drive that overnight I'd thought of a use for..... Many years later I have a couple of Wesfarmers shares so I now frown on such exploits!
  • Nice one ^ Keep 'em coming .. everyone must have a few little gems that haven't YET been shared ?? We're all ears  >:D I have a new attitude towards Spiders around my place after someone mentioned to me a while back -'It's their home too' On 40 degree days .. Blowies make a beeline .. err .. flyline into my downstairs sunroom. When this happens, I close the doors and careful to only squirt a little fly-spray down the opposite end of the room to the Spider webs so that they don't cop any of the spray. After about 5 mins .. not being composed enough and desperate to escape .. these little fellas and gals stuff up and many end up getting caught in the Spiders web .. Funny .. the little 8 legged creatures aren't affected by the toxin when feeding on them .. which is good. Smorgasbord of buzzing meals. They've never had it so good. It was Christmas .. after all. Well .. it is their home .. so I guess they need to eat too .. they are kind of 'family' after all .. and play their part.  :thumb: There was this tiny Spider that set up on a beam dividing my lounge & dining rooms. I'm careful not to spray too close to my little mate who appeared to be doing well up there. At least I thought it was. It always seemed to prefer to rest in the same spot .. no worries. Underneath the beam is a speaker cable for my rear surround speakers .. where the other (hot) day .. 4 or 5 flies were sitting on it ... and I had to let them go .. as I couldn't spray them. A few days later, when dusting .. I brushed the little fella .. to check whether it was ok. Poor thing was dead .. oops. Sorry bout that, mate. I'd been looking out for this little critter for months. Oh well. There was this medium sized beetle hanging from a long thread right next to my downstairs stereo .. and it seemed to be quite happy there going about its business - dangling  I kept an eye on it for a number of days to see how it was going. All good .. until I decided it was right in the way of reaching for the power point .. so I hooked its thread around my finger and moved it to a similar hanging position over the other side. Checked up on it a couple of days later .. and there was a Daddy Long legs hovering over it .. and it had woven up the poor little blighter in thread pinning its legs so it couldn't move. I unhooked it to see if it was still alive and tried to rescue it by attempting to unravel the thread. After a short time .. I realised that it was dead .... and it was all my fault. Sorry bout that .. buddy. I feel so much better getting this stuff off my chest. You will too. Next
