After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Fluid bed vs. drum roasters for home
I've owned a iRoast2 (fluid bed roaster), Behmor1600, and a Gene Cafe. they are listed in chronological order. The iRoast2 produced a great flavor, but was too load and finicky. The Behmor1600 was easy but lost power over time, taking longer to roast after only a years use. The Gene Cafe does well, too, but it is, after 2 yrs, losing strength, too.
Of the 3, I always thought the iRoast2, when done right, produced a superior roast. The Gene Cafe I thought was a runner up.
So, I'm looking for a new roaster. Would prefer a fluid bed home roaster that can do 1 lb. I can't find anything without breaking the bank. Want something more durable than the Behmor1600 and the Gene Cafe. Fluid bed would be preferred, but drum is okay. Any suggestions?
