After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

what equipment are you using?

Very nice Kevin A fully self contained household from roasting to cup KK
  • Lever machine added.  A Londinium L-I.  I love the way it works.  This Lever Machine heats up faster than my GS/3 and is easier to get a smooth mellow shot without a bunch of tweaking of the many controls that the GS/3 has at its disposal. The Kony-E grinder will probably go up for sale when the HG-One hand crank grinder arrives.  I still use the Versalab and the Modded Pharos. The L-I is working so well I might sell the GS/3!!  A very good New Year so far 8) http://mini4fun.info/Espresso/Coffee_Adventures.html

The Strega are terrific but imagine the Alex Lever next to the Alex Dual Boiler... How cool is that!!  I'm just so relieved that Diadema don't have a lever because if they did... Why... My kids might starve

This Espresso Machine is the home machine and I love it Our immediate family have always owned cafes. One was always close to home. We could pop in anytime for an espresso as long as I made it myself Recently as last year some relatives have sold the cafes or relocated on the other side of the city so I got my own E61 machine from Barazi here in Brisbane for home use No travelling involved to get a great coffee Espresso Machine:  Bezzera Domus Galatea Grinder:                  Macap M4D Stepped Tamper:                  Pullman Barista Convex Roaster:                  Turbo Roaster Home Made. And always improving Koffee Kosmo

  • at home ive got a rancilio epoca - but I've snapped off the cheesy plastic sides and replaced them with stainless, and Ive whacked a synesso steam tip on the steam wand - and this seems to work gangbusters! Im also in the process of replacing the plastic console on the front with stainless, should be done in a few weeks! And Ive got a gene cafe roaster, and a mazzer super jolly at home, as well as an atomic stovetop, and a sunbeam em6900 in excellent working order! at work ive got a kees van der westen mirage triplette classicio, and a robur, plus a major, 2 x hario cold drips, and a syphon! not too mention several clever coffee drippers for pour over coffee - which is my preferred method of preparation at the moment!

    Awesome thanks mate!
  • We have recently moved and in doing so bought a whole load of new kitchen equipment. At the moment, we are using: Coffee machines: AEG Favola Plus Grinders: Zass hand, Rocky Doser, DOGE85, Mazzer major, KR1203. Roaster: Has Garanti 5Kg 3motor. I have to admit that these were more my wife's choices than mine, but everything seems to be in order so far - no complaints  ^-^

Isn't that a pod machine?  What are the grinders for?  :-|

Very nice Luke You need to do a review when time permits  :thumb: KK
  • Is that the Forte?  Or the Vario 2.0 :) I see it still uses the same 54mm ceramic burrs, but has a metal grinding chambers.  I would be interested in your review.  I loved my Vario for a lot of reasons, but it just wouldn't grind fine enough (even with adjustment) and in the end I replaced it with a BSG which is loads easier to use and cleaner too.  The Vario always sprayed out a fine spray of coffee around the machine!
  • It's a forte AP. Grinds extremely finely out of the box (although I've read that some don't) I asked the seller in the UK to test it for me before he posted it for that reason. So far it's "the best" home grinder I've ever used (all my opinion! And for my needs). Seems to retain barely any grinds and the timer dose has been super accurate so far. More testing to come.
