Dry_bean Muscles wrote: Great photos guys! You have some nice kit. Here's a panorama comprising 12 photos I took (without my tripod) in Vanuatu and stitched up in photoshop. DB - nice house! Thanks Muscles, Almost did a dive trip to Vanuatu a few years back, nice job on the panorama, looks like a great place to visit. 🙂
Dry_bean AngerManagement wrote: Now that is a great shot and looks so peaceful , almost too good to be true and the colour in the flowers etc. Looked hard but could not see coffee trees any where 😉 Thanks AM, coming from you I take that as high praise. Coffee trees? reckon we're a little far south for them things. ;D
Muscles Hey DB (Sorry don't know you real name so hope DB is ok), Your EXIF ISO is 1250 - amazing color!! Did you do any post-processing to the pic?? Any HDR scripts??
Dry_bean AngerManagement wrote: ME... I can not use any thing that is not point and shoot :o :o But I know what I like and the contrast, the lighting in the sky and depth of colour as well as the subject. Just tickles my fancy. From the bush and thus the place has a tug on child hood memories and what my mum tried to do in the middle of the scrub and in places that would be considered almost desert. She came out from England at 18 just after the war, married my old man in central Qld and spent many years in some of the most barren and out of the way places. She was from an upper class family and looking back, it always amazed me how the two of them have lasted as long as they have... But I always recall snap dragons, pansies and other flowers she tried to grow as a reminder of home... So what are the flowers ? PS. Any chance of a better quality photo 😉 The flowers were Cineraria's and Pansies. Will try and grab something better when the lighting is right. 😉

DB is fine Muscles. ISO 1250 eh? goes to show what can happen when you rely on memory, must have been pushing pretty hard for light, I recall using a tripod. as a matter of interest how did you pick up the camera settings from the image I posted in this thread? From memory I adjusted levels and lighting on Nikon Capture NX. 🙂

madpierre Love the red dirt Borat, grew up with that when we used to head out to my uncles property outside of Bollon.
Koffee_Kosmo Woken up early this morning By the squawking of many many parrots So I got the camera out and went as close as I could without scaring them These are Corella's on my across the road neighbours trees, These birds started coming only a few years ago they come regularly now to feed They are feeding on a pine tree full of round, marble sized seeds Please forgive the camera as it was zooming at its limit KK

The sulphur-crested cockies loved the seeds but would take a bite out of one and drop the rest...on to the iron roof...directly above my bedroom...at 5AM in the freaking morning. These are Little Corellas fwiw. I've seen a small flock of their long-billed cousins near my place in Sydney. They are usually an inland bird but I think the drought in recent years has driven them closer to the coast and they've now discovered a more ready food supply.
