I certainly agree with you guys and it's refreshing to come across people who understand that offering products and services for sale requires cost + overheads +. The retail landscape in AU is facing many challenges. Some traditional retailers are failing, others are struggling and for every article written about buyers not spending or opening their wallets, there's a convenient counter article that bangs on about how "service" standards have deteriorated beyond acceptable (or expected) levels. I wonder why. Buyers who think they are very smart and savvy ( to the point of being smug ), spending countless hours researching on the internet the lowest price and then believing they can outdo the last guy and lob a ridiculous price they think is what they "deserve" to have as the sale price. Yes, they are buyers with a bit of knowledge but absolutely zero understanding of business operational costs naming their price, most having never run their own business and therefore lacking the insight and respect sellers rightly deserve. Barely a day passes where I don't receive the hustle........"I will buy X if you give it to me for Y". It's hard to be polite when responding back to them......sometimes I even wonder if it's actually worth responding due to the ludicrous nature of the message. Either way, quite a bit of time is wasted on "hustlers" - all part of the territory - they have been around since the dawn of sales. Recently, instead of being insulted, upset and looking like I want to kill someone, I've resorted to equally comical taunts back to them......."Sure, just for you, because you are so clever having worked out the absolute cheapest price on coffee anywhere in the world, we will do a special price of $100 per kilo delivered - hurry, get in quick before this offer ends"........
