Thanks KK. I went straight back to work and switched hammering hands. It happened because I was complacent and blase'. I remember a time when I used to stop and assess what would happen if I slipped. Time to reboot the brain 😃

Not bad stitching. Hopefully the client was OK about it and didn't complain about staining the pavers. When I spring a leak, the clients are usually pretty good as it is normally caused by their pooches, but you can get some right tossers in client land.

Ouch! Even though it looks like it's not on the bendy part of the thumb hopefully you can successfully immobilise it for long enough while it heals but nonetheless it's hard to convince the thumb not to chip in instinctively. Hopefully you can still lock in your PF tightly enough

One of the first things my wife said was " can you still make coffee" - half in jest but with underlying tones of concern :rofl: When I told her I made a brew 10 mins after the stiching she was reassured. It is wierd tamping with my left hand though, even though I'm left handed - well ambidextrous Client was fine, more than fine actually. When I told him that I owe him a towel because I flogged one off his clothesline to stem the flow he was even fine with that. Bloody hard not to involve the thumb in anything though. Better stick it in a pie little jack horner style :rofl:

Oh just for future reference in case you make a habit of this kind of thing. Superglue is a handy DIY alternative to sutures. Works a treat for simple cuts - yes I have tested it. Saves a visit to the doctor, or if there is no doctor immediately available.

Funny you should mention that. I asked the quack about meat glue ( alah butcher meat glue) half joking and he said they absolutely use it but on smaller wounds and normally with kids. Ive heard that cyno (superglue)works well. And yes, I do make a habit of doing things like this, just not as bad 😃 Might have to carry a pouch of tobacco around with me like the WW1 & 2 soldiers to stuff into wounds or 8)

Nice job, at least you did it properly ^-^ On the superglue, while it works, please check the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) as some are carcinogenic. I use all sorts of glues but not to stick myself together, well at least not on purpose. We do have some medical grade at work I think.

CA glues (aka superglue) were packed in battlefield wound kits in Vietnam for quick fixes. Bleeding to death or possible cancer later on, living wins. Speaking of gore I saw a picture of a removed finger tip today by a fixie bike chain ??? How many hipsters with missing fingers are out there making coffees for you with weird haircuts :stir
