Same tendencies here - between that and the batch size I'm tempted to go back to my Corretto or get a KKTO. But then again the coffee comes out reasonably nicely done and it's less fuss - as said on another tread ... use your senses, don't worry/be happy and have a beer at hand. In your photo it looks like the thermocouple would be right above the elements? It would be interesting to see a graph through the roast - pity it's so hard to get one into the bean mass.

I know you were worried you'd burned this roast, but look at the chaff still left in the middle of most beans. It's only *just* hit second crack, so should be a winner.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. When I cracked the door on my first roast of this, a mild updraft threw out a few teaspoons worth of chaff which caught fire upon hitting the open air. For a few seconds, I felt like a magical coffee wizard.

Your camera sucks, derrilex. It seems that this bean holds a lot of chaff if you don't let it go right through second crack. Seems to be a good indicator of good taste though, now that I've done 4 roasts of it.

Tonight I roasted 400.1g of a blend posted by galumay on the Behmor. Blend was: 96g Brazil Daterra Sweet, 80g Guat Hue Hue, 96.1g Sumatran Blue Tak and 128g Ethiopian Sidamo Haile Selassie Naturals Program was a preheat for 1.5min to warm the internals up & then into 1IbP2C. Saw 1st crack at 740ish to go (remember roast time is 21min 30sec), rolling 1st crack at 720ish and I pulled the roast on the 1st snipes of 2nd crack at 1min 50sec for external cooling. Below are some pics of set up inside as well as out in the garage, along with the roast & my stash (all taken on ipad - I apologise for photo quality): Jonty

I'm thinking of buying a Behmor. Are they a goer or not?

The behmor is great value, easy to use, roasts great coffee and is hypnotic as you sit with a beer and watch the beans go around. It's a goer in my book.

Good entry level roaster afaik. Limited ability to really craft roast profiles but good community support which counts for a lot. Pretty sure beangreen sell them too. I know they are also available from non-sponsors but I have no hesitation in recommending beangreen as a company to do business with. :thumb: Edit: just checked and it is no longer on the bean green website, so I guess they no longer stock it. They do have the i-roast2 and the fresh roast, but they are very different beasts.

I still use mine and I've got a KKTO! Easy to use, easy to maintain and good results. I bought mine from Ministry of Grounds and received excellent after sales support!

I have just had a search of their web site and can't seem to locate the Behmor. How long ago did you buy yours. :question:
