After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

    Campos was in the top 5 of the last Crema review You should give them a try if a chance presents itself Brisbane's Best Cafes 2011 judged on their coffee: 1. Cup Specialty 2. Dandelion & Driftwood 3. One Drop 4. Campos 5. Bunker KK

    I can recommend Hamptons Home Living for coffee and breakfast. 80 Latrobe Terrace  Brisbane QLD 4064 Barista Ben, former part owner of One Drop is working there, using St Ali beans. Well worth the visit IMOP

    Quite surprised to see Bacano not get a mention here. My pick as the best coffee in the CBD and is definitely worth a visit if your in town. Some others worth a mention are Shucked and Divisione Tecnica both at newstead.

    Cup specialty coffee and bunker would be two of my favorites .. followed by One Drop and Dandelion and Driftwood. There are others around but these guys are the most consistant in quality. Almost forgot Campos .. I try to get there at least once a month.

    I was amazed at the Bunker...  Not sure what coffee they are using now, but on more than one occasion when I have been. I have had great shots.  Yet I have had poor shots from many other places using the same supplier and almost come to expect a less than ideal cup from that supplier.  Then again, we all know that while the bean is a good proportion of the cup the person pulling the shot can always make a mess of the best beans.
    Bunker very recently switched to 5 Senses beans .. I am heading there tomorrow morning as a matter of fact.

    What time..... !!!!! I have to drop of the border at the Queensland Ballet at West end about 8:30 / 9:00 So could always try to catch up... Also an opportunity to see what the Bunker can do with a different bean  :coffee2:

    I was at Bunker last week after hearing they switched to 5 senses. Vast improvement IMOP but I think Black Star roast a bit dark for me. They have 2 grinders running the Dark Hoarse blend I think as the house blend and a Yirgcheffe  in the second grinder when I was there. I had to try both of course, and will be frequenting there more often now, as often as I can anyway

    Wife and I didnt want to drive to the city to any of the majors.  Stumbled upon Simply Beans on Logan Road past Garden City.  Joe Anapo has a Dietrich Roaster in a little boutique set up.  He made me the best doppio ristretto I've had .. Like ever ...!  Seriously!  He also asked if I wanted 50ml or 30ml before grinding!!!  This shot didnt come from a Slayeror a Sneezey!!! My wife's affogato was received with a gasp of delight (Martini glass) from all and sundry, and tasted spectacular.  This is a lovely and passionate guy who has opened his own dream little shop and his results are spectacular.  Not a compromise in sight. Someone pinch me and tell me it was all a dream.  QUEENSLANDER!

    I popped into Cleanskin Coffee in Brendale today.  Had a lovely piccolo latte, Mrs has a Chai. Looks a bit unassuming from the outside,  but inside it's very nice, industrial look.  Loved the massive window at the back which you can sit next too and check out the roasting area.  Pity they weren't roasting while I was there!  Only a coffee place but the coffee was excellent and it wasn't far out my way really on the way down from the Sunny Coast. They also had a brew bar, and sold some Hario gear, and had a Nuova Simonelli Musica on display, and beans is jars (not sure about that one).  They didn't seem to display the usual 250gm bags of beans, but my Mrs got 2x1Kg of the Chai powder which she loves.  Saved on postage and it was much cheaper too!  Bonus!

New contender for top 5 coffee spots, but was always going to be with Luke Shilling as owner/barista. Roburs & LM Strada on the bench which is actually pretty easy to use. Rotating blends for coffees and defiantly worth a visit if in that way. Is even going to be open weekend nights.

    Neli's Coffee is still the best coffee in the Redcliffe and the ambience is still great.  If you like coffee and you live nearby give it a go. Their own blend is becoming widespread, I have seen it as far away as the Gold Coast Nancy

    ok... not quite Brisbane but Costa Noosa in Sunshine Beach is bang on the money for my liking - only minutes walk from the beach but pleasantly nestled across the road from a leafy aspect, with great coffee roasted in house, and a good selection of yummy pastries - I mean what else could you ask for?

    what do you know - ive actually liked and followed them in  my news feed but I havent had any posts pop up from them, so ive obviously put them on  my 'to do' list at some stage! will have to check them out next time im in brisvegas! Pat
