Cadel needs to find at least 5 minutes over Wiggins in the mountains based on last nights TT to be a good chance for the overall. Still a good time to Evans but that ride of Wiggins WOW TDF

Totally agree on both comments Wow what a time trial I watched it all unfolding live on SBS However it's a long long race and Wiggins Sky team is short of a couple of key riders due to accidents in the earlier stages The upcoming mountain stages is the time the team is needed most for support Although Wiggins is no slouch in the mountains I feel that the time advantage will be reined in due to the observation I made above KK

Cadel's attack was brave but it also weakened him loosing his second place position and time on the leading riders. I am just not sure that he is 100% health wise as its uncharacteristic Is Cadel's fighting spirit enough to close the gap on yellow on the upcoming stages KK

I'd love to be proven wrong and I know they're only half way in to the tour but the dream for a back to back win for Cadel seems very unlikely now. Cadel's a fighter and will keep having a crack but it goes to show the tour's a monster of a race and breaks even the best. Sky's team is extremely well balanced and in top condition. Although he doesn't do it for me personally dont forget that Wiggo broke his collar bone last year and I bet there hasn't been a single day since then that he hasn't been hell bent on making amends at this years race....I bet his fav band is Survivor! It's time for the other teams to work together and keep launching well coordinated attack after attack and who knows they might get lucky but I doubt it'll prove fruitful

Last year Cadel won despite his team, this year he will not win because of his team! I am surprised he didnt get picked up by one of the stronger teams. Wonder what the inside story is there?

CADEL Evans is bewildered by the Tour de France sabotage that caused up to 30 riders to puncture after tacks were thrown onto the road. TDF - Stage 14 Summary Evans punctured three times on the final descent into Foix as stage 14 was thrown into chaos. "You're in a bike race and people can see something they can gain, whether it's a protest or something they can gain from you as someone who's reasonably well-known," the defending champion said. "I'm used to people - the 'me,me' generation, it's sometimes referred to - that's the way it goes. "Hopefully ... karma comes around." Evans said he could not see the tacks because of the speed of the descent off 1375m peak of Mur de Peguere. "At 70km, you can't see tacks on the road," he said, referring to his second and third punctures. "But my main thing was it happened to me three times and at crucial moments. "I'm yet to see what happened to the group in front. "This has happened to me before - two times in Spain. "For that reason, I don't race in Spain very often and sorry to the good Spanish people and my Spanish friends and so on. "There are a few people in their country who take things too far, it's cost me a Vuelta (Tour of Spain), it's cost me other races."

Before the tour ends.... @KK - thanks for these updates ! Wiggo - the stronger allrounder deserves the spoils that are coming his way in a couple of days Sky - spared no expense and have got an amazing team (no salary caps in this sport). When there's a total domination by one team, the specatcle can quickly become less enthrawling for some people (unless of course you're barracking for the winner). But hats off to them. It might be just as easy to include the whole Sky team in my fantasy team next year and be done with! Challengers - were worn out and most likely demoralised by Sky. And when they did finally attack all they could muster were puffs of smoke instead of grinades Cadel - Maybe next year. We shouldn't forget he has had 3 or 4 very solid tours in a row and was probably due for a bad one Up and Comers - we caught a glimpse of plenty of good young guns this year (the odd one even smacking us in the face ....Sagan) Doping - well..who can tell? I couldn't believe the finishing speed of Cavendish last night. I only watched the last 20 mins or so of the leg and it was good watching - even for the non bikers like me.
