Welcome C-Man, looks like I missed a corker today which is a shame. Great though to read the treads and hear the stories. Hopefully I'll catch up at the next one!

Had a bad night's sleep last night and found myself surfing the Net and thought I'd catch up on some coffee conversation. This resulted in me visiting 2 forums which I used to frequent very regularly. I think I have just woken up from a coma and a civil war has been going on :o I recognise a lot of the names so I hope the people are the same ones that were around a couple of years ago. Anyway....just saying Hi......again 🙂

beanflying

Welcome along, it's more like a migration program than any war too 🙂 Some of the names have remained the same and a couple have changed to protect the innocent  Kick back relax and enjoy :thumb:

Welcome Gaza :thumb: Get a few posts in so the instant drinker tag line changes to junior barista and beyond KK

Thanks guys....I'm assuming that this forum has had a complete refresh as I was posting here 5 or 6 years ago when I first got my EM6900 / EM6910 machines but all of this appears to have gone :-|

Welcome HG. The site has had a revamp lately, but all the posts/content was retained. I just searched above for "Gaza" and set to search entire site. I found heaps of your old posts like this one from way back in 2005. http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/espresso-machines/no-crema-from-sunbeam-6900/msg3255/#msg3255 Are you still using the same machine?

Kelsey

Good sleuthing Lacehim! And quite topical given the current discussions re: the longevity of big brand name domestic espresso machines like the Breville Dual Boiler in some ways it's probably fairer to Breville to compare it to the Sunbeam 6900 rather than the 6910.

Just a major facelift late last year I did a fair bit of. Some time before that there was a migration from Yabb to SMF that was before my time so I am not sure if the post counts or all user details came through correctly. The advanced search function is more powerful or even search with google is sometimes better than the native one. If you are at all interested we could always revive your old account in place of this one? Just let us know if you like 🙂

Certainly not the "exact" machine after a number of replacements from Sunbeam....but yes, still an EM6910 (and this one has certainly given a good run).

Ok Honest Gaza is dead long live Honest_Gaza (again) 😃 If you have forgotten the old password then get a reminder sent to yourself from your old account. I have changed the email address to ....@bigpond.com and had to change the new one from it (disabled).

Honest_Gaza

I'm alive :coffee2: 😃

thanks Tim; now just thinking H-G, now that we've got the 'real' you back, I've always wanted to know more about the name - was there ever a 'dishonest' Gaza, for instance? :stir Not sure if you're aware, but one of the guys [Muscles] does a fine job of interviewing members to find out a little more about them, and 'what makes them tick' so to speak; beware - you might be a possible future candidate!! A 😉

Was there ever a "dishonest" Gaza ? Well it all started about 25 years ago when Gaza decided to run a footy tipping comp at work and wanted to ensure everything was above board. To encourage people to part with their hard earned money, I named it "Honest Gaza's" footy tipping comp. The name has stuck ever since......and yes, I did win that comp  But I realise the importance of such a badge and do place integrity extremely high on my traits.
