derrilex And one I did today mucking around. This one was cast as a blank ( not a moulded shape). I stuck it in a lathe to centre drill it then drilled and tapped for a SS helicoil insert. Worked great and its how I will do all future ones.

derrilex Ok, this is the first thing I turned on the new lathe. With no real idea of what tool/s to use and when I just muddled through it. Came up ok I reckon. Need to work on technique. I have real trouble getting a straight / parallel edge. Practice makes perfect I guess.
derrilex Took a big chunk out and had to keep going to get rid off it. Left me with not much meat around the stud. Thems the breaks I guess. 😃 but you can see how skinny it is down at the PF
