The Burundi Mirango Lot #1 continues to be a fave - think sidamo with a wonderfully complex treacle finish.

Started the day with a long black PNG Kimmel peaberry roasted 22nd. Quite a departure from my normal routine as I usually have a straight espresso. For a first attempt with new beans it came out remarkably well. Faster pour than the Brazil dulce I have been drinking recently. These pea beans take some work to grind - an extra second or so for a double shot. Very pleasant in the cup, not as cloyingly sweet. I was probably ready for a change.

Brazil Ipanema dulce, as an aeropress long black, then a ristretto. roast was darker than my usual. Beautiful ristretto pour, but lacking complexity in the cup. Will probably use the rest in grinder blends. very easy bean to roast though.

PNG Kimmel pea berry. Never been able to get a fine enough grind with these beans before, best I used to manage was a slightly fast espresso shot. New burrs allowed me to get 33 mils in 30 seconds. Nice rich chocolate and a good bite to it. Think I shall roast some more now I can get ristretto shots out of these beans. Must also try Turkish again

Harfusa. Siphon. 90 second steep time. Definitely improving thanks to James M suggestion of add coffee once water is all up top. Minor hiccup as I forgot to attach filter spring today :doh: so grit in lower chamber and post filtered with the neru sock. Keeping my eyes open for a cona. Siphon is just so much better than any other brew method if you are in the right mood.

Peru Fundo Santa Martha Guatemalan Antigua Los Volcanes Indonesian Sulawesi Toraja Kalosi I really like how it come up as an espresso Be adding this to ESP only list Maybe needs something else to make it better in milk , I felt it got a bit lost in milk

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Trabocca FTO Specialty. Started at 8 days post roast. Very drinkable as a long black but seems to shine as espresso. My favorite SO Yirg so far, not that I've tried all that many... Finished a KJM blend last week- Peru Guatemala Huehuetenango FTO Ethiopia Harar FTO Sumatra Dolok This developed a really intense Marzipan note that I've not come across before and can't quite figure out where it came from, Vanilla too. Very enjoyable.

I had my first try of Yemen from GB this morning very surprised how the shot tasted, super soft and smooth and was good after milk too only about 4 days post roast, I don't know how to describe it. just good.

lots of crema and so far Nutty and Fruity but i can't make out the fruit yet. Hows that Yirgy going Brett? If there is any left from the first roast it should be tasty by now

There's just a bit or he plunger at work and the espresso at home. It's an absolute treat this stuff. I roasted some or a mate and he bought an empty packet back to me in record time begging for more! I may have to charge him something because at this rate he'll drink it faster than I will.

I'm drinking Brett's Yirg (love when you buy jewellery and you get coffee as well ;D ) as a black, so so easy to drink, no sugar. I'm also drinking James' blend from C-man's thread. I can finally say I can successfully roast a blend (even if it's someone elses), chocolate all the way and a sweet after taste.

I think MM would blend with anything and add a nice buttery effect.
