According to the girl there, Katie the roaster got the beans in because of some competition she is entering. I am trying to get a KG My wife says it is like a meal in a cup, tastes like Apple pie

Sunshine Coast coffee just got another boost with Tim Adams opening a cafe in Caloundra. Seems to be called Lamkin lane espresso bar. Check out his facebook page for details. 🙂 http://www.facebook.com/timadamsspecialtycoffee Lucky man Kelsey lives nearby!

Kelsey

At this stage, having not been to Clandestino, I'd rank Sunny Coast Caf

Lacehim

Thanks for the list too Kelsey. I've been down your way a few times and wouldn't have a clue where to go for a decent cup. We are going to have to catch up soon! Clandestino's is worth a visit just to see the plane strapped to the roof! lol.

C-man

Yep, Kelsey You should have a look at Clandestineo, lots of things to see and do there, lots of machines, lots of siphon things set up, big roaster and Including your own test drive of a Strega! yep one as a demo, depends on how busy they are though.

Kelsey

I'd be up for that. Take Lacehim's Achille and have a shoot-out.

Lacehim

Take it? I hope your lifting it! It weighs 40kg! 😉

C-man

I have tried both, I am very lucky they are both really good.

stayed at mooloolaba for 10 nights last month in Mantra Sirocco. first morning went downstairs and bought starbucks. YUK. never again. I guess its a mistake you only make once. the rest of the time there was spent getting coffee from either 'the good bean' -very nice, and 'emjays' -also very nice. had 'emjays' mostly as i broke my toe and 'the good bean' was just that little bit too far down the street. soft i know 😃

just to mention, "Little Lane Espresso" in Coloum recommended by Pioneer, tried it about a week ago during a get together really good flat white, much thinner, very silky and a good fusion of milk to coffee. Just one blend, but a good one. they were too busy to explain what roaster they were using.

Lacehim

Your lucky C-Man I went to Littlelane once and it was closed for 2 weeks when they went on holiday! Ended up with coffee club swill. It does seem to be busy. One day I might make it. Anyway, I popped into Pioneer at Yandina which I don't get to do often due to the opening hours, and no Kate on the roaster! 🙁 C-Man tells me she's gone, which I hope is not true! Her roasts were the most consistent on the coast IMO, and I had never had a bad bag once in all the years I've been buying there. Roasted a bit darker than the hippies at Noosa too who like it on the lightside.

C-man

yep, sadly no more Kate Gone but not forgotten, she was really into what she did and did it with excellence. I don't think "Pioneer Roasters" will be the same anymore
