After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Spending 3 days in North Africa , and just had another try of espresso in Algeria.
Drinkable, but only just... Extremely dark roast, bitter. Tastes a bit like a cheap robusta.
The large silver bowl in front of the four group Conti lever was full of pre-ground or maybe even instant coffee... Mmmm
Every cafe I've been into has a three group lever. Most seem to be from the 80's, a locally made machine called 'Arabica'.
Algeria is a huge consumer of coffee, almost all served as espresso. As far as I know, not much if any is grown locally.
