Thanks Michael Hopefully the process isn't to much trouble. Did go to Bunnings today and buy all the stuff to do a temporary fit, so slayer should be up and running by Friday. Can't leave a new toy just sitting there teasing me ;D. @Lacehim, roasting some nice beans to cover the roaster down time, check with c-man, he might share? Chester

WOW! I wouldnt have picked that colour in a million years for coffee hardware, yet it looks awesome. Nearly worth a trip south just to have a look when your setup is complete!

Already got my order in with C-Man. I got him to organise me 500gm Zambia terranova (I liked this previously when I roasted it) and to treat myself 500gm Ninety Plus - Ethiopian Nekisse 🙂 Good luck with the build mate! Progress photos are a must! 😉

All good Lacehim, C-man messaged me, will post some pictures of todays roasting in the roasting thread. Thought I would add some extra photos now I have unwrapped the portafilters and moved the slayer inside. [attach=1] Front panel [attach=2] Custom badge [attach=3] [attach=4] With portafilters and steam wand handles fitted. Gold Coast tomorrow for roaster pimping :thumb: Arrange a sparky on Tuesday to put in a small sub board and the 32amp required outlet for the slayer. Chester Chester

Hi BrettH Was a concern when we looked into them after all the stories of high maintenance on versions 1 and 2. Version 3 is no longer mechanical and is good for a million cycles, the machines are super simple inside and lay out is very clean. Any good tec would be able to service them. They also come with a brilliant online owners manual with video links to setting up the machine through to servicing step by step, really well done. Add in a well laid out service schedule outline, and I can't see any problems. I will take some photos of the internals to show the clean design. Chester

Get QM0996 up for a drive if you need repairs! lol. Nice machine, love the handles and the green is growing on me. Certainly looks different and stands out! :thumb: Your a lucky bloke, my wife would go mental if I brought that home (and a big roaster too! 🙂 ).

Very cool! Also, I do like your colour very much but it wouldn't be my first choice. Photos would be much appreciated.

Didn't actually choose the colour myself (@ BrettH). This was the machine and grinder CWE customed for their MICE stand and was set up pulling coffees for those interested in Slayer machines. On the last day I asked what the deal was on the "used" machine, they offered it at a reduced package price that was to good to say no too. So green black it was. :thumb: Council have been and looked at my site and given me the in principal approval to squeeze the new shed onto the block, so hopefully the paperwork will go through tomorrow and we can start moving forward. ;D :coffee2: ;D Chester

Thanks GatG, It has been a terrible illness the upgraditis, but I think I have successfully beaten it this time. ;D But have developed a minor case of blingitis and secondary impatience seeing the slayer on the bench with no power or water connected yet. :laugh: Chester

You have bragging rights on any forum and with any Cafe' setup as well. That set up along with your sophisticated palate and desire for the unusual will make for an excellent coffee shop/roaster y someday. I am just happy Chester is up this way for a change, not everything good has to be in Melbourne/Sydney, it will be really nice to have access to slayer shots and 90+ beans Pressure profiling has always fascinated me. Took the lid of the slayer. [attach=1] steam boiler and pre heat tank [attach=2] needle valve and brew boiler [attach=3] Needle valve, this controls the flow rate of the pre infusion when pressure profiling.

And a few more. [attach=1] inlet, internal pressure gauge and other bits of plumbing. [attach=2] heating element end of boilers. [attach=3] Brew heads Really clean inside, very neat. Can't wait to get her all plumbed in and going. Chester

looks easy to work on if you knew what you were doing access wise anyway.

Thats just with the cup tray off C-man, remove 3 screws on the side panels and the whole side comes off takes about 30 seconds. Chester
