After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Back playing up today, can't sit, so roasting is the go. 600g Bali Shinzan God Mountain. Followed by 500g Columbia La Esperanza Gesha Cerro Azul. Both pulled just before 2C and planning to use primarily as pour-over and cold drip brews in a few days.
It's that time of year again when the middle east version of disney land and it's associated markets open up for the cooler months. Fresh from the Yemeni spice vendor's markets are a few kilos of unidentified beans, with faces that only a mother could love... Broken, split, a few blacks, the odd peaberry, a few insect damaged and otherwise slightly pale looking beans - pretty much the same as last year, but perhaps a slightly larger screen size. The roast took a fair bit of heat, and I normally take these a little longer towards 2C than I otherwise would. The result.... Unbelievably good. As espresso, it pours like chocolate, thick body & smooth, muted acidity, sweet nuttiness with some stone fruit. The mottling in the cup looks like a work of art! With milk as a mac, it was ok but IMO a waste of a great SO and not well suited anyway. Retail price was 50 dirhams a kilo, which is about $16 in real money.

Just goes to show that beauty is more than skin deep! Well done and enjoy the forthcoming views. :thumb:
That Panamanian coffee really was nice. If you have any left, I might order some more from you in the New Year after Wifebert has the bub as I doubt I will have much time for roast experimentation then.
