PID controlled automatic drip coffee maker

I have an automatic drip coffee maker.

Is adding a PID feasible? Desirable?

I suppose you'll first need to look at what temperature it brews at. Is it already stable? No point going to the effort to make it accurate to the degree if it doesn't require it for this process. Personally I would leave it as it is, make coffee, and enjoy it! 🙂 KISS.

Welcome mate. Most of those machines are unavailable here in Oz sadly. Mi also think Breville has stopped production of the YouBrew double sadly!

dunno about a thermocouple in a drip coffee maker -but I wouldnt mind one of these - then I could add my own temperature controlled water,and have a couple of brewing methods included in the same device! http://www.trinitycoffee.co/

those look awesome and love the fact you can brew under some pressure. Do a pour over or cold brew. Might be pulling the pin on this I think. Also my buddy down the street (Daniel from Specht design) does the hand crafted one off wood work for these units. I'll get in contact with him to get a feel for these brewers.
