This camera is my first Canon ( and my first DSLR ) Previously my 35mm film camera brand of choice was a Pentax So I have no rivalry at all - it's just banter on features ect KK

Yes mate but it's not 'clean out'! That a feature of the 7d, not the 70d. The 70d has some really great features I'll admit. That battery cover for instance looks very sturdy >😃

Clean HDMI output is what it's all about. Or is it noise performance? Or low light performance? Or is it pixel count? Wait the d7200 shines in these areas. How could it be so for a 1.5x crop sensor? Must be a Sony sensor. That's one of the main differences between this model and the old d7100. That plus an array of refinements in AF. Lol. But it's not full frame. I can only dream. At least it outperforms the full frame d610. [emoji48][emoji108][emoji13]

KK It's not about the photos. Lol. It's about the the size of the peni... I mean camera. It's actually about the 12" behind the camera that makes the difference.

It's actually in the eye A good photographer must have a good eye, it was especially true in the 35mm film days where one had one shot The thing I actually miss most when in manual focus is the 45 deg Split Screen of the 35mm Pentax It would be great to bring it back in DSLRs KK

hi KK. You can actually get split prism focus screens for DSLR cameras. drybean has one on his. They are an after market product and great for manual focus. http://www.katzeyeoptics.com/item--Canon-70D-Focusing-Screen--prod_70D.html These ones from Katz Eye Optics are the bees knees!

I luv you too KK... no time here for frivolity! Just back from holidays in time for a tidy-up then work. This is a had-held shot, no VC in Fluro lighting of an impossibly chatoyant Coconut agate with the 60mm macro. A bit of sharpening post due to moire patterns overwhelming the focus.

True! its a fluke when you cut them exactly right like this one to reveal the in-flow and make maximum shadowing/chatoyancy of the fortifications but I got lucky. Polishing was a cinch on the flat lap because the weight is perfectly distributed given that it's a sphere. This is the reason we shoot full frame. Every extra bit of detail in the shadows counts!
