Well yes and no Pat. I understand the gods of the interweb dont want subversive/radical stuff like this getting out there, but really, it depends on the "brief" ie what is that blend going to be used for 🙂

I pre blend all the time But I use techniques that my roaster can accomodate Also having roasted over 2000 roasts helps a bit in ones understanding of coffee as well KK

I bet it does! LOL. IMO the Behmor lacks the precise control of other roasters (including the KKTO and Corretto, not to mention pro level roasters) to be able to get really involved in the process. That and I lack the experience to make up for it. Plus I'm still only monitoring and recording everything manually, so until I get a better and more automated monitoring system I'll be keeping things relatively simple.

Brought in 35kilos of greens so got Brissie grandson to help sort and organise stash.Found several part bags of quality greens amongst which were a Tanzanian bean and a peaberry.Pre blended and roasted for me wow? Finished drinking the blend and decided to do a roast for me so into the KKTO went 650grams of Skybury peaberry pulled at 230deg at 17min and am now enjoying beautiful triples.There is still some pre blending to be done with several part bags.

Same, I don't think I've had more than about 8kg at any one time. I'm still just buying 1kg of each origin at a time and trying new ones each time I order.

Sorry I haven't kept up with my posts of weekly roasts But in general it's been 1 to 2 KG of roasting for personal consumption and roasting up to 5 kg for enthusiasts that want me to roast for them Anyway today had a visitor bearing gifts 3 Kg of greens from different areas So I decided after a blind choice to decide the 1kg being roasted today Today's lucky beans are Brazil Yellow Burbon - Pulped Naturals from the Pocas Region KK

OK members Please read the above post first The beans I roasted as noted in the post above Some were sent as a sample to Canada with a part built KKTO wood base roaster These are a couple of photos sent of the result in the cup All I can say is that the latte art is better than mine :thumb: KK

My current batch is: 60 per cent PNG Okapa 20 per cent Peru Ceju de Salva 10 per cent Burundi 10 per cent Honduras And one 100 per cent delicious - pulled roast at first snips of second crack!

My current batch is: 50% Brazil Ipanema 30% Cuban 20% Ethiopian Yirg Bit fresh still but not so bad with the 22g basket in the big Lever.

That last roast was so delicious I roasted 2 lots of 1 kg Some of it to give away to a client I'm trying to impress 300 Grams of Burundi 300 Grams of Guatamala Los Volcanos 300 Grams of Indian Plantation AA 100 Grams of Sumatra Wahana KK

Yesterday I roasted a pre-blend of: 300g Mexico el Triunfo Arabigo 300g Nigaragua Matagalpa A 300g Ethiopia Sidamo Naturals Finished with 755g. Looks to be about a CS9. I'm going to give them about two weeks as most roasts from the JYR really start to offer their best by then.
