After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

built myself a coffee cart !

well I'm not sure if it comes under the topic of rebuilds, but it's definitely a project! I built a coffee cart specifically to fit my La Rocca Verona Expres coffee machine which I purchased second hand recently

say what you like about the build quality of Spanish coffee machines - it's very simple under the hood - but it makes great coffee and the 5lt water tank combined with a 2lt boiler mlmeans that I can make a lot of coffees between refills !

in fact I've had 4 gigs since building the cart a month ago, and I made 70 coffees on it yesterday, and it didn't miss a beat !

    Ah wow, that's awesome Pat, looks great! I considered buying myself a coffee cart setup dealio, but didn't have the know-how (or money) to do so, it would be alot of fun doing coffees at events, and pouring good quality stuff too :)

    yeah it's great working from a purpose built space the ergonomics are really good which makes it easier to get the coffees out when you're under the pump and I've had six event bookings in the last month since completion!

    well I say 'high demand' but on Saturday I made 80 coffees on my single group machine in 4 hours so that's pretty good going even if you allow for 20 per cent cost of sales that still leaves a good margin ...

    Ah yeah for sure that's pretty solid! I've only ever worked in cafes but would be so fun having a portable cart and being in different areas..

    yep same most of my experience is in cafes and restaurants as well but the overheads are just too high if you want to maintain quality and turn a reasonable profit besides with few exceptions I think I prefer working for myself as if I have a good day, well, that's up to me, and if I have a crap day, that's also up to me !
