Hi Guys, new here, as this being my first post. We have a new Sunbeam Dual Thermoblock, and have found tamping to be of the utmost importance. If we don't get the tamp right, the coffee tastes like crap, and the machine doesn't work properly. Regarding the two/three tamp, my wife did the Sunbeam course yesterday, and the instructor actually tamped three times at various times. I'm not advocating he is right, but it's interesting to read your views, and then see what a professional is doing and advising. Also some of you might like to comment/advise us, - we try to tamp the same all the time, or as close as possible, yet sometimes the coffee takes forever to flow, and then it smells burnt, other times it's fine. This isn't our first machine, we had a De Longhi prior to this, so whilst we aren't pro's, we also aren't novices. Your comments would be appreciated. BenB, sorry mate not trying to hijack your thread. Don
