After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
The Price is Right (for cafe)
This is my first post to the forum. I come across this website by coincidence and I am so happy to see so many coffee lover and baristas sharing their knowledge and thoughts about coffee. NIce to meet u all :D.
I had been working in various cafes for a few years now and had been considering to buy and run a cafe myself. I did a bit of calling up the ads of cafe for sale on the paper and i am kinda confused about the pricing on a cafe. Say one cafe TO 8k and nett 2k is selling for 150k and the cafe on the corner TO 8k and nett 2k is selling for 220k. I talk to business brokers and they are no help at all. Can anyone tell me whether there is a guideline or rule of thumb for pricing a cafe relating to net profit and TO? or the cafe owner can put up any price and wait for suckers like me to take the bait?
