admin Pat's probably too modest to mention this, but last weekend he got [Foxy Brown] rated in the Herald Sun as second-best cafe in Melbourne to go for breakfast - congratulations! A
askthecoffeeguy Thanks A - Foxy Brown got a write up yesterday in the Sunday's Herald Sun's annual glossy: "The Ultimate Guide to Melbourne" - and were listed among Melbourne's best value breakfast destinations Weekends are busy for us anyway but yesterday we were slammed beyond belief - and with my two full time baristas on holidays abroad at the moment it made working the coffee machine interesting to say the least! Thankfully I've got enough depth across my staff that we managed to cope ok - but my hands were aching at the end of the day from the number of coffees we made - which is something that happens vary rarely - so I know that I had a good workout behind the machine! Cheers, Pat

Acg ... actually [not that I favour any of the chains] but for what it was worth, there was recently an article in some of the major newspapers that Michel's had the best coffee of all the coffee franchises... although obviously very 'barista dependent'; will see if I can find the link...
admin yes, it was done by Choice... I think today's Epicure in Melbourne will have the Age's Good Food Guide, which usually includes a the Age's shortlist of cafes - anyone in Melb. feel free to comment on any notable inclusions or omissions! A
askthecoffeeguy Well...it's official: Foxy Brown gets a cool 23 out of 25 for our coffee and 4 1/2 out of 5 overall in the Melbourne Coffee Guide - out in hardback today!
blanyon Fantastic work great to see your hard work being recognised. Now prepare for the onslaught of new customers coming out to try your foxy brown!!!
askthecoffeeguy I haventr ead the book cover to cover but a a glance that puts us in melbourne's top ten coffee destinations: I'll drink to that! 🙂
Thundergod Well deserved! I was down from Sydney in October and Pat and staff treated treated me well and the food and coffee was excellent. I can still remember that salad. 8) It seemed like a bit of a hike from where I was staying in the CBD, but well worth the trip and I've been telling everyone that since. Next time I'm in Melbourne I'll be paying another visit for sure.
askthecoffeeguy Thanks TG for the kind words - we're constantly revising what we're doing with our coffee which is great as it means that we're constantly evolving - which feels good And the recent spate of positive publicity hasn't hurt business one bit! In fact on our last trading day fir the year last Thursday we had our busiest week day trading day ever - nearly doubling our average takings - which is great way to finish the year but it also means that we we're inundated with regulars - so it's nice to know that we are loved! I've been consultating for a new cafe retail project in byron and will probably be doing a few guest stints as ring in Barista in early to late January if anyone is in the area and up for a coffee Cheers, Acg
admin hey Pat - would love to but doesn't sound like anyone's going to get within a few hundred miles of the place because of the weather - is it still raining?
askthecoffeeguy Not sure I'm still on the nsw south coast relatively isolated in a bush setting across from the beach so I'm not too sure what's happening in the rest of the world - besides it's prob going to be another week before we're in Byron proper...
blanyon Just booked my flights to Melbourne for the 5th and 6th of March for a wedding and it is with great glee that I see that foxy brown is only just down the road from the ceremony, probably have to drop in before and after. Hope you will be there on Sat arvo Pat. Cheers Brett
askthecoffeeguy Hi Brett ironically I've got a bucks do that afternoon and a wedding to go to the following weekend - I will be at work on the sat you're here - though I prob have to leave at 2pm latest Be great to see you though !
