1kg Yirgacheffe Harfusa. Small green bean, with a very strong grassy smell in the bag. Roasted slightly lighter than I would normally do; pulled prior to 2C, showing 210degs. A light tan stripe down the centre of each bean. A nice even roast. Left it for a few hours then couldn't wait any longer so I decided to give it a try. As a machiatto, it was quite floral or perhaps fruity, and a bit earthy. I can see how it might be described as having lime tones. The wife's immediate reaction (she tried it as a latte) was, 'that's a strong taste..'. She was initially unsure, but it grew on her towards the end of the cup. I like it, but can see it's not a bean for everyone. Quite drinkable immediately after roasting; apparently the floral / fruitiness is supposed to fade after a few days. We'll see how it goes during the week. The Ipanema Dulce from the previous roast has got even better as it ages. A very nice bean that I think would have wide appeal when taken with milk.
