Sorry about the sideways pics. Yes grind in the kitchen and brew in laundry, it's okay only  a few feet away. Now that the L1 is in the laundry I'll get it plumbed in. I love the HGOne just weigh the beans, put in the HG, grind and get all the grounds into the dispenser which fits nicely into the portafilter. Very little wastage or mess.

On the bench and nearly done.

Has just been been finished mechanically (clean as a whistle in boiler and reco'd groups / smooth action happening there) and we may make ourselves a cuppa to drink this arvo. Cosmetically not far off.

Some mod cons incl auto fill / anti vac valve and modern boiler safety valve, colour change led lights behind the front plate, and as can be seen in the side, a sirai switch.....and a smidge of modern wiring.

As previously stated not restoring to brand new just come out of the factory in China this morning condition, has been left in original condition and for its age it is really nice incl the original crema caffe valance on the top (not fitted in this photo).

It will look great.

For a reasonably small forum there are a lot of lever owners and admirers here. I thought we were a very niche market.

Its now that they are being rediscovered
Many manufacturers are gearing up to fill the demand

A great design that went out of favour with technology
Now technology is trying to replicate it

Lever owners say why replicate it with electronics ? just offer the original and the best  again

I haven't been on the forums much for a while. The Ponte Veccios (sp?) were only just coming on the market when I moved away from CS and I hadn't found another local forum until I stumbled upon you guys via tapatalk. So it has been a while.
Yes the simplicity of the design was what drew me to my lever too. My only minor quibble is that it can't knock out coffees as quickly as other machines can as you have to wait to make sure it's not going to sneeze at you.
My wife is not so keen on the 70s styling but I am hoping she will grow out of that.

If you guys are ever in Kuala Lumpur and craving some Lever action  ;) then you need to head to Real and Wholesome for some Lever porn, they are opposite the Pertona Twin Towers and roast their own and have a nice 3 Group Mirage.

I spent quite a few hours here while I left my other half to shop, had some good chats with the baristas and came back the second day to take some photos

Looks great - how well will wood stand up over time to the heat and moisture?

Cheers Ros. Heading there next month so will try to persuade Mrs egg that we need to stop by and try them.
Until this we have had to go to bangsar to find a decent coffee

Went there yesterday. If possible the machine actually looks better than Ros's photos show and the espresso was just as good.
Had a little chat with the barista about lever machines and ended up getting a freebie shot as he wanted to show me what their other single origin was like.  Both amazing coffees and I wish my machine was behaving to make espresso anywhere near that nice.
