Swap club?
« on: 09/06/2011, 12:19 PM »
Wondering if anyone is interested in swapping some green?     Everyone's taste is different, I'm sure we all have beans that we would be happy to swap.

I'll start the ball rolling.   I have on offer:

Ethiopian Kuza
Peru De Selva
Cuba Turquino
India Mysore Nuggets extra bold

Open to suggestions as to what you'd like to swap for any or all of it.   These are mostly part 2.5kg bags.  I'll weigh them individually if anyone is interested.

Interesting that you've started this thread, I was having thoughts about the Boa'an I have, we aren't sure we really like it, I enjoy it mixed with the Peru though so I'm not sure yet.

A swap club is a great idea. I have done a few deals in the past on CS with other members who had beans they didn't like and ones I had a surplus of they couldn't get.

Best swap MTE Bin 35 for some Ethiopian Harrar kg for kg ;D If anyone has any more Bin 35 lurking around and wants to swap let me know.

See how it runs but if it gets to messy and hard to follow in time, maybe the first post might be a good place to post quick details of beans amount and members name?

I wasn't sure this would work for me as I don't have huge quantities of beans (only got about 12-14kg in total). Reading vinitasse's post though reminded me, I do have some decaf Wow! I would happily swap.

UNM I'm only talking about swapping 2.3kg so I'm not in that huge quantity either.

This bean swap is a good idea
However I have been so selective in the last few months that I dont want to part with any of my stash

But for good faith I will look in the morning and see what I can do for a swap

My offerings:

El Salvador San Emilo Red Icantu
Yirgacheffe Harfusa
Laos Arabic (Bolaven farms)
Uganda Okoro White Nile Organic

The Harfusa is a ok bean when taken to 2nd crack, a few degrees less..... sublime. Complex sweetness with a strong lime smell/taste and nice acid. Brilliant as a syphon or plunger. Problem is no one likes but me as it is horrible in milk.

I will offer the Laos 2 for 1 as it is old and I got it cheap.

The Uganda you can have for free, on the condition that you tell me the roast profile if you get a good result. This bean tastes like astringent grass which I can reduce a lot by extending out the time I get to first crack.

Cheers

I have 5kg of Colombian Supremo and some Yemen Boa'an I'd happily part with - about 1.8kg weighed in the bag. I'm always happy to try a new coffee so would swap for something that's not on this list:

Colombian Supremo 5kg

Sorry do not follow any football.

Misunderstanding as I never got a pm and never saw you last posts.  I would never get up before 10 on a weekend.  And 8 is only because I would be dropping my daughter off.

As implied... some time soon, once I know about having to go to Perth.....

Ps.  My right ARM has been broken as I AM ON  the phone as SUNDAY as is computer free day....

OK I will cut you some slack this time  :P  :P
See what happens on your return
