On the scale of "mad hobbies" this one is surprisingly low-cost and low-impact  for the satisfaction/bragging rights reaped!  Nonetheless it's a slippery slope as you have demonstrated.  Oh the fun you'll have comparing the Commercial Splendor shots to the smaller volume Pavoni and from your own freshly roasted beans.  I'd be jealous if I didn't share your enthusiasm ;)

It sure is, I am itching to roast so more but there is no point if the end up wasted, I still have around 700gm of roasted to get through first  :coffee2:.

I am, I am, it's all harmless fun :D.

It is relatively cheap compared to my other "hobby", high end and niche French perfumery.
As I have mentioned before I have actually sold off a lot of bottles to fund this whole coffee thing which really is a good thing as there is no way I would get through all the perfume I had in my life time so it is way better to have sold some of it than to have it sit there and possibly turning-or so I tell myself anyway.

I guess I am pretty much set up now and I really can't think of anything else I "need" or want so that will be it for the spending I think.

I can't wait to get comparing between the two machines, different beans and all that goes with it :).

Just roasted 750 grams of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe this AM, one of my favorites, at my current rate of use will last me about a week. ::)

I usually get through 1/2 a kilo a week, that can vary whether Matt is drinking much, how often my mum visits or just on my own mood.
1/2 kilo usually covers it though.

That's a good amount of coffee - i drink out a lot but im the only one who drinks the stuff at home so 250g is enough for me

depending on coffee orders though I can be roasting up to 7kg a week for my cold brew though!

7 kilos for cold brew. Wow.

I haven't really got a taste for it but my son loves one every now and again.
