Absolutely, visioned that way and constructed to work in that format (just to big to carry in a single piece)

My 2 group slayer has 4 boilers, 1x steam, 1x pre brew, 2x brew.

And I think 11 baristas, 3 doing milk, 4/5 pulling shots another 3 pouring and a heap of runners to keep the coffees going out and cups coming back to the washer.  Consider how many coffees could go out the door in 1 hour if you needed a beast of this capacity also need a massive solar system to help keep the power bill down from the massive draw.

Would also be impressive to watch a busy service humming along.

How does it work if 9 people are running shots at the same time? I mean, if I'm at the middle groups, how do I get to my grind? Do they have grinders on top of the machine?

I would go grind bench behind with 3 banks of say 3 grinders with the same beans.

I guess that's the only practical way, but having to turn around to get your grind is not the most comfortable when you prob have become used to using a grinder on the side.

I used to make over a 1000 coffees a day at the UNSW and all we had was a 3 group with one person on shots, one on milk and on taking orders and money. So, is this machine for situations when you need to make 3000 coffees in a day?

Not sure of the true thinking behind it,(looks good at shows though for promoting your product)
in real world makes more sense to have three separate machines I would imagine for numerous reasons.

Less machine congestion

power down some machines into eco mode during known quiet periods

different machines for visual appeal and coffee types ie Slayer for black coffee, Spirit for milk based coffee and an old lever just to keep KK happy.

convenience if you have a break down

Just to name a few

Yeh, for $70k I'd be spending it on a slayer, a spirit and something else from Kees Van der Westen's design closet.

Actually, a  set up with 9 Modbar taps each with its own grinder and steamwand would be ideal for baristas. Imagine 9 setups like that!

For $70k you could design and implement an excellent coffee delivery platform far superior in every way to the single machine featured here.  I kinda think it only exists because it can!

As a thinking designer
For ease of use by many people at one time - the design should have been in a circular arc

Having said that - the boiler / hot water delivery design could have been so much better
Well I would have designed it better

But hey I don't work there

Yep, agreed. A cool machine - perhaps. A conversation starter - definitely!

However, is it worth the $70k? not in my opinion.
